John Leventhal (born in New York City on 18 December 1952) is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer. He is married to Rosanne Cash and the father of Jake Leventhal. In 2024 he released "Rumble Strip". Leventhal has produced albums for William Bell, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Michelle Branch, Rosanne Cash, Marc Cohn, Shawn Colvin, Sarah Jarosz, Rodney Crowell, Jim Lauderdale, Joan Osborne, Loudon Wainwright III and The Wreckers. He has won six Grammy Awards.
