Breakdown of Sanity

Breakdown of Sanity, the renowned DIY modern metal outfit from Bern, is back in full force in 2025. Since their formation in 2007 by guitarist and songwriter Oly Stingel, the band has relentlessly honed their intense, breakdown-driven metalcore sound, enriched with elements of deathcore, hardcore, and progressive metal. Their albums The Last Sunset (2009), [MIRRORS] (2011), Perception (2013), and Coexistence (2016) are all self-released cult classics within the scene, known for their gripping energy and raw intensity. When the band celebrated its live comeback at the Impericon Festivals in Germany in spring 2024, a few unexpected lineup changes shaped the year: Due to health reasons, drummer Thomas Rindlisbacher had to step back, with David Stutzer joining as his replacement. Later that year, vocalist Carlo Knöpfel left the band to pursue a different musical path, prompting the group to publicly search for a new frontman.
