Drive By Wire (DBW) werd in 2006 opgericht in hun thuisstad Deventer door zangeres/gitarist Simone Holsbeek en gitarist Alwin Wubben. Hun titelloze debuutalbum, opgenomen in de hete zomer van 2006 met Hans Rutten (The Gathering) op drums, trok direct de aandacht van de internationale pers.
