Gia Fu - ADE

Hong Kong DJ, selector and producer Gia Fu specialises in Afro-Latin music, particularly salsa and its associated rhythms. Drawing from her Chinese heritage and Latin American influences, her work explores how different musical cultures can meet, enrich one another and challenge stereotypes. Through her Canton Mambo project, Gia bridges these worlds across music, research, dance and cultural events. Her upcoming single, ‘Canton Mambo’, continues this exchange by combining the traditional Chinese guzheng with salsa rhythms. Gia’s work has taken her from Clockenflap Festival and the Latin Grammys in Las Vegas to opening for Marc Anthony in Miami and a sold-out headline tour across Mexico. She has also produced a big-band salsa album for Grammy-nominated artist Angel Meléndez and curated music for Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Pre-Fall Show afterparty in Hong Kong. On Saturday, October 24th Gia Fu presents an evening performance during ADE with local support from DJ Mickster (Fiesta Macumba) and Chico.
