De authentieke Colombiaanse latin band LOS CUMBIA STARS komt voor het eerst naar Europa en vult de Kleine Zaal van Paard met de fundamentele ritmes van cumbia en música tropical. De achtkoppige band, met cumbia zangeres Cristina Escamilla en componist, gitarist en accordeonist Juan Pablo Acosta centraal op het podium, presenteert een dynamische show. Dit jonge project uit Medellín, onder het legendarische label Discos Fuentes, heeft in negen jaar tijd al 130 live optredens verzorgd op gerenommeerde festivals zoals het Rosario Castellanos Festival in Chiapas, Pirarucú de Oro in Leticia, en het New Orleans International Jazz Festival. Hun discografie omvat vier studioalbums en twee live-albums, waaronder twee Grammy-genomineerde werken: 'Baile Kolumbia' en 'Los Cumbia Stars vol. 2', beide erkend in de categorie Best Cumbia/Vallenato Album.
