PAARDENRAVE

PAARDENRAVE is a Rotterdam-born multidisciplinary club concept where My Little Pony meets Pride and somebody accidentally opened a bottle of poppers in the stable. We're a queer, sweaty, unapologetic rodeo packed with high-energy, genre-fluid DJs, outrageous performers and enough horse energy to make your mane curl. Expect cowboys kissing cowboys, glitter-covered horses, strippers in chaps, hay in your underwear, carrots flying through the air and a dancefloor galloping into sunrise. Whether you're a horse girl, leather daddy, disco pony, rodeo queen or just horse-curious: everyone is welcome in the stable. From intimate clubs to massive festival fields, PAARDENRAVE has already left its hoofprints at Mysteryland, Blijdorp Festival, Perron and 160K, turning every venue into a temporary pony club. Come as a cowboy, come as a horse, come as your ex's worst nightmare. Saddle up for the hottest rodeo in town. Yeehaw! Pride originated as a protest. Although Pride is now also a celebration in many places, we believe that its activist character is more relevant than ever. At a time when queer rights are under pressure worldwide, hate and polarization are increasing, and community safety is not a given, we believe it is important to make room for visible activism. That is why we are introducing the 'Pride is a Protest' campaign during PAARDENRAVE. Visitors who participated in the Pride Walk will receive free admission to the event. As proof, we ask them to bring their protest sign to the entrance. The protest sign counts as your admission ticket and simultaneously forms a symbolic bridge between the daytime demonstration and the celebration at night. For safety reasons, protest signs with wooden sticks or other hard materials are not permitted in the venue. Upon entry, these can be left in safe storage at the cloakroom free of charge and collected again afterwards. With this campaign, we aim not only to lower the threshold for those who spoke out that day but also to emphasize that protest and queer joy are not mutually exclusive.
